Topics
Micro-organisms, which share many characteristics with systems, are powerful tools in our laboratory for the study of the behaviour of hierarchical process systems. Our challenge in this domain is to formulate an engineering scheme which could provide a wider overview the phenomena from molecular level to large-sized equipment scale. We are currently involved in the following researches.
- Synthesis of biotechnological processes to produce biofuel ethanol from carbon dioxide
- Development of genetically modified cyanobacterium for high production of hydrogen
- Production of alabitol and xylitol from lactose in an effluent of food industry utilizing an osmotolerant yeast
- Metabolic control of yeast cells by manipulating cytosolic pH
- Production of arabinose from lactose and lactate in an effluent of food industry utilizing Azospirillum species
- Effect of oligosaccharide on the lactate production of plant origin lactic acid bacteria
- Development of high density cultivation of plant origin lactic acid bacteria grown on sugars from sugar beet
