Current Research Topics

The mission of our laboratory is to improve the durability of chemical engineering equipments. Our research fields are shown below. We study on the fracture and degradation for polymeric materials and polymer composites, especially particle filled plastic composites, now.

1.Chemical degradation (corrosion behavior) of materials under acidic or alkaline solutions.
  • Study on corrosion mechanism for thermosets or composite.
  • The development of Epoxy resin and FRP recycling method using the corrosion behavior under acidic or alkaline aqueous solution.
  • Corrosion behavior of nano-composites.
  • The improvement of corrosion-resistant using the functional composite material.
  • The development of the smart material used under the corrosive environment.
2.Crack resistance of epoxy resin under mechanical stress and thermal shock.
  • The crack resistance of hybrid particles filled epoxy resin.
  • Creep property of the partucle-filled composits with ultra-high filler content.
  • Evaluation and development of the heat-resistant composite material.
3.Othersa.
  • Mechanical properties of green composite.
  • Study on the sand erosion mechanism of the particle-filled composites.
  • Study on the slurry erosion behavior using the flow analysis.
