Current Research
Topics
Development of new membrane technology for gas and vapor
separation. Membrane dehumidification, membrane separation for
carbon dioxide, VOC removal from air and pervaporation
separation of ethanol/water are current research topics.
- Separation and recovery of carbon dioxide from air using
amine liquid membrane
A surface -soaked liquid membrane construction was developed. By
using the liquid membrane with amine liquid a CO2 concentrated
air feed equipment is applying to a green house.
- Dehumidification and humidification of air using a liquid
membrane with hygroscopic liquid
Hygroscopic liquid, i.e. triethylene glycol, can be applied for
water vapor separation in air as a liquid membrane. A continuous
separation equipment of membrane humidification or
dehumidification of air are developing and theoretically
analyzed.
- Membrane distillation for pure water making
Membrane distillation has been expected to apply making pure
water from sea or surface water. There are many research topics
to the development of membrane distillation process. In our
laboratory, membrane surface treatment, operation optimization
for energy saving and equipment constriction are studying.
